Diced Beef Recalled

RSW Distributors of Forest City, NC, has recalled about 3104 pounds of their seasoned diced beef due to contamination of foreign materials.

This is a Class I recall meaning there is a health hazard where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.

The diced beef are in cases of four 8 pound vacuum sealed pouches measuring 10x22 inches.

The label shows the beef as manufactured by Culinary Standards and is labeled "Seasoned Cooked Beef (Diced)."

The label also shows EST.8318 inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The diced beef was shipped to schools as part of the school lunch program in South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington on 12/9/11.

A conveyor belt broke down during production and some of the conveyor belt may have been included in the diced beef.

Consumers are advised to contact their healthcare provider concerning any injury or illness as a result of consuming this product.
